armanyaPretty much what it says on the tin, yup yup. ^^ I'm super grateful to the people who have jumped in and betad 1D fic so far - including both those who are really betas in other fandoms and 1D fandom peeps responding to me on Twitter - but I'm a horribly impatient writer who kind of likes to have dedicated beta(s) I know I can send stories off to! So I think it's time I found someone who will beta 1D fic, since none of my regular betas dived into this fandom with me that I know of.
A few things:
- I like "harsh" betas. Spelling/grammar checks only are good, but I'm an extra happy Rainbow when I get betas that aren't afraid to point out other stuff I can improve.
- I'm a multi-shipper. I would therefore prefer if you are happy to beta any and all 1D ships, including possible het (and femmeslash if genderswapped). BUT if there's any pariting(s) you just won't do, let me know and we can work around it. I mostly write Harry/Nick and any/all variations of Harry&Louis&Zayn, sprinkled with a helping of OT5 feels, so it'd be good if you're at least okay with those ships.
- I'm really into BDSM/kink (with feelings ^^) and slavefic, so it's helpful if you like/tolerate those things. I'm not so much into various other tropes. Again, if you have any specific triggers you just cannot read, let me know? I'll probably ask/warn if I'm writing something specifically triggering though.
- English is not my first language, so it'd be good if it's yours so you can catch my ESL syntax errors easily. Would be extra good if you can also britpick, I know I have some Irishisms in my language that I probably shouldn't be attributing to anyone but Niall. :P But it's not required, I think, no one complained so far heh.
- I. Abuse. Commas. If that makes you see red, you probably won't want to see my unbetad drafts. ;)
- Most of my fics are under 5000 words, so it's mainly quick-ish beta work. A lot of my fics are only 1-2k, or less.
- I use GoogleDocs Drive for my fics so it'd be real handy if you're okay betaing and adding notes through that. If not I can just download and mail it to you, sure.
- Bonus points if you're also happy to beta in any of my other fandoms. (See AO3 for fandoms I currently write/have written in.)
- Obviously in cases where you won't be around, I'm still perfectly happy to find a replacement beta the odd time. No pressure! This is mostly so I have people I can go to first and don't have to bug everyone on Twitter every time I write something. ^^
- I do have someone to discuss fics with as I write, but I wouldn't really mind another brain to pick, if that's something you're into. Either by mail or on some messenger.
