Hello and Welcome!

Thanks for visiting my journal! This is mostly a place where I post fannish things, and sometimes about my hobbies and pictures of my pets and garden. I've been away from DW for quite a while and recently got back into using it regularly, so I'd love to make new/more friends! The majority of my posts are public since I rarely share anything personal here. I'm happy to add anyone as a friend, do feel free to drop me a line if you friend me so I don't miss it. I'm not fussed on whether or not we share fandoms - I love seeing/listening to people squee about their favourite things even when they are not my favourite things! (I'm very much kink-positive and ship and let ship.)

About Me

I'm Nikki (but Armanya works too), I'm in my early 40s, married (as of 2019), have a son (born 2012). I'm bi/queer, pronouns are she/her or they/them. I am AuDHD and deal with chronic pain, I don't tend to post a lot about it but sometimes there might be spoonie/ND related memes or rants!  

I have been in fandom under various screennames since 1999. I'm very multi-fandom and definitely a multi-shipper. I heavily identify with fandom is my fandom.

I write fanfic (all of which is on AO3) and have made a few graphics and fanvids, something I kind of want to get back into but currently lack the time (or maybe motivation, mostly).

Other than fandom I fill my time with various crafty projects. Atm mostly crochet and papercrafts, but I do love trying new things! I'll probably post crafty projects now and then. I also enjoy penpalling, cooking, baking and gardening. I love tea!

I have 2 cats, Dasher and Dotty. I'll probably post cute photos of them now and then.

My Fandoms 
Like I said, I am very multi-fandom. I often hop between fandoms, sometimes hyperfocusing on something new and sometimes falling back into an old fandom of mine. Below I shall try to keep an updated and complete list of fandoms I am happy to chat and squee about. My current obsessions are the ones I'm mostly consuming and creating fanworks for atm. (Though when it comes to fic, I will happily read pretty much any fandom if it's great fic.) The lists are in alphabetical order to make it easy.

Yes! Just rewatched TOG the other day. Really been loving the variety of fanworks in this fandom. (And all the meta and history-related things!).

It's been a while since I checked in on anything Numb3rs related but it's one of those shows/fandoms I just keep in my heart. 💜

Cool, so many wonderful fandoms, I have two main at the moment but keep going back and reading in my old favourites, and another fellow cat person! Yours are adorable, but then aren't all cats :)

I share many of your hobbies too, although I really can't crochet, I've tried so often and it frustrates me that I just can't get the hang of it, lol. I've bookmarked your A03 page to take a look once Snowflake is over!

It does look like we have lots of things and fandoms in common! The Sentinel was the first fandom I read fic in.

I actually taught myself to crochet by searching up video tutorials for any new stitch I found in patterns. I have tried to learn knitting from videos too but I am finding that super confusing!

I also went through a stage where I kind of fell out of love with fandom. It was fun to fall back in love with fandom again though.

Oh my god, Detroit: Become Human. I know literally nothing about this game, but the concept as communicated through fanfic is so very, very appealing to me, and I keep finding myself falling into them and getting really sucked into the stories.

And that is one of the many reasons I love fandom :)

I only played D:BH in the last year because I kept seeing bits on Tumblr that made me curious about one of the pairings... and when I was done I wanted to read all the fanfic and there is so much great fic in this fandom for sure! Honestly I think the fic is better because, like fic often does, it just digs deeper into the world and the motivations of the characters.

Anyway, I also love that about fandom. :) There are several fandoms I have read a bunch of fic for without ever engaging with canon (and I also kept getting sucked into canon through fic haha).

EDIT: Oh also, I love your icon! :)

I fell into it because an author I was reading in another fandom posted a Gavin/RK900 fic with the comment of "one of these characters gets five minutes of screen time, and the other literally shows up silently in a hidden end scene". Which I think exactly captures that whole thing you're saying about fic digging deeper; I love it when fandom snags onto a throwaway character and invests in it hard.

...I can start with just fic, but I almost invariably end up falling into the canon afterwards.

Thanks. I picked it up from an LJ comm about a million years ago, and have ended up never changing from it as a default because it just suits me so perfectly :)

We have a lot of fandoms in common, but I'm mostly here to proclaim that I too am OBSESSED with papercrafts. :D It's gotten out of hand!

Your icon is too relatable, I spent several minutes looking for my phone today whilst talking on it...

And tell me about it! My papercraft supplies are fast outgrowing the amount of storage space I have. There's just too many pretty paper things! (Flowers... I have become strangely obsessed with paper flowers. And doilies. And die cuts.)

I'm CONSTANTLY losing things I. Just. Had.

I just discovered quilling and it looks like a prefect thing as it gets me using all this cardstock I've accumulated and requires no new tools (which is where I usually get CRAZY!!

Hi! Joining the chorus of Snowflakes who have a lot of overlapping fandoms with you :D

I really love the TV adaptation of both The Sandman and Good Omens - can't wait for the next seasons! And just the title Mass Effect strikes me with nostalgia. I really need to replay it (and Dragon Age too, but for some reason I just got more hooked on Mass Effect's story and gameplay).
