Challenge #11
In your own space, recommend a fannish or creative resource.
First of all, I want to rec Fanlore, because I feel like a lot of fans aren't aware that it exists? From their Wikipedia page: Fanlore is a wiki created to preserve the history of transformative works, as well as that of fans, and fandoms, with a focus on people and their activities rather than on fandom canon. It is owned by the OTW. It's an awesome research for learning about fannish history (or, you know, nostalgia tripe). They also have a Dreamwidth Community at
fanlore, for news and announcements.
For writing resources, I specifically want to highlight OneLook Reverse Dictionary and Thesaurus. "This tool lets you describe a concept and get back a list of words and phrases related to that concept." I'm not exaggerating when I say that this has saved my sanity! All those times you just cannot think of the right word as you are writing, this site is real good at finding that word for you (as long as you can find words to describe what you want lolol).
I also want to rec
little_details, which is an excellent fact-checking community for writers. They have a 10+ year archive of tagged posts so chances are you can find the info you need, and if not, it's a great place to ask!
And because I like to share, here are some of my bookmarked pages and posts which I find especially useful for writing fic:

And this Tumblr post about the best way to cuddle to warm up someone with hypothermia. Look, you never know when you need an escuse for characters to cuddle, right? :P
Yeah, I know the challenge said "a fannish resource", but I know this is the kind of challenge that's going to be fine with my over-enthusiasm. And I hope people might find these as useful as I do!
