armanya I was one of those people. One of those people who was just firmly TOO FUCKING OLD to get into a boyband fandom again. (Alright so I might still like Hanson and McFly but they are MY AGE now alright, it doesn't make me a creeper in any way.) I mean I started out writing boyband slash about 12 years ago now and back thenthey were too old for me, not luckily just on the right side of being jailbait.
Also I didn't particularly like any of their singles, so it was easy peasy. And then I "accidentally" (why do I click everything Youtube suggests?!) heard Little Things the other week and... well, okay, it's a good song? It got stuck in my head. For people who are so inclined here's the video. (But like I don't recommend watching it cause there is obviously some subliminal message in there. Or maybe it's just their faces? We'll get to their faces.)
Right but it was still alright because it was pointed out to me that I can just tell myself it's an Ed Sheeran track and I'll be ok! But then I was reminded that McFly members have written for them and really now that I had liked one song I was curious if maybe these songs were worth hearing too. But ofc that just made me curious to hear the whole album and... this is a slippery slope okay?!
But I still told myself that this will be perfectly fine, because hey I can listen to their music without reading dirty stories about them (they are babies alright, babies - they're all younger than my little sister) or engaging in any sort of flail or whatever. Because that usually works out fine... AHEM.
BUT THEN!
No but seriously. Harry Styles everywhere on my Tumblr dash. :(((( Idk if I just never noticed before and those subliminal messages in their music just got to me this bad (those messages are there I tell you, they must be!), or if there was actually a sudden influx of Harry on my dash. BUT THIS FACE THIS FACE EVERYWHERE.
Like how can you resist that?! IT'S CUTER THAN A PUPPY!
Okay maybe not really but it' a close call.
But that's okay. I can awh overpuppies Harry Styles and still stay away from the fic. The fic is always what gets me. If I just stay away -

So yeah by now there's me...
And that's how I went from being indifferent to One Direction to knowing all their names and half their songs and most of the fandom ship names in about a week.
Also how I lost the last shreds of my sanity. Oh fandom, you are a harsh mistress.
