By the way, did you ever put any stock in that theory that Michelle Branch's "Hotel Paper" was about him? I was revisiting that song this week after seeing her in the "SETB" DVD. It's a beauty as a song, IMHO.

But the lines like "I'd be out of line telling you 'leave her' / So I lie lonely surrounded by you" and "I wanted to be / Giving you everything, she's not giving" were interpreted by some to be about a little "thing" they had and him never going to leave Natalie, and Michelle seeing him on TV, magazines constantly for promo, etc.

There were these pictures as well, and this is like 5+ years ago now, of Tay and Michelle at some party/event and they were both a bit flushed and sweaty and their body language was pretty "interesting". I'll be damned if I can find them (I don't think I saved a copy, or lost them), I think they were Gettyimages/Wireimage at the time too (now since disappeared off with age), but even the "puritanical", self-censoring H.net crowd was like "Woah, um...?" and one post was like "They look like they just had some really aggressive sex. Sorry, have to say it. :( "

Anyway, Michelle's basically denied the song is about him, or any one person - moreso life on the road and missing friends and boyfriends, etc. But of course she *has* to say that.

What do you think?

Hanson should cut some lousy demo version of the song for some bonus CD or membership kit or something, just to get people talking again. I think Natalie would kill him for that, though. :)

You never know, maybe Nat and Tay have an open relationship and she knows stuff goes on and is fine with it. Considering rumours that she wanted to marry Taylor Hanson before she even met him I can kinda imagine her putting up with stuff just to be his wife. Not saying that's what I really believe but you know, we really see so little of their family life, who knows?

I always hoped the Michelle rumours were true, in my opinion they seemed like a good pairing! I'm kind surprised that none of them ended up marrying a musician actually... but then I guess a fellow musician wouldn't have time to take part in their baby making schemes. :P

I do think though that either Tay or Zac or possibly both just... cannot have married the perfect person. Sorry for being a huge unromantic cynic but two best friends just happening to be the perfect women for two famous brothers... yeah, that sounds like a fairy tale that I find it hard to believe in... And I can imagine, if either of them had wanted to break it off, that would have been an awkward situation.

I hope I'm wrong though, I'd prefer them to be happy ofc.

Yeah, I could see Natalie "looking the other way", especially if it's guys Tay is getting on the side, and maybe if it were girls? I don't put much faith in those "Hansonsecrets" communities, but I'd seen more than one post theorizing that Natalie's so terrified Tay might leave her, that that's part of the reason why they keep cranking out the babies, and it's not the craziest theory I've read. Who knows.

I totally wanted Michelle and Taylor to end up together, too! They would have been cute together, I thought - not just physically, but their vibe and the fact that they seem to have mutual respect for each other as musicians. The romantic in me kinda always loved the way they looked at each other, or even when they were trying not to (like some of the footage of them on "SETB" working out a song). I also thought it would make sense for them to marry a musician because they understand the temperament and creative forces/processes, instinctively. Actually, I thought I remember reading that Michelle Branch married her *producer*, but I looked it up just now and she's married to her bass player, Teddy Landau, since May 2004 - so she did land a musician.

Michelle is still pretty active around the Twitter-sphere around Hanson. I saw a cute post from her on Mackenzie Hanson's Twitter stream to the effect that he's always like a little brother to her and she can't believe how awesome it is seeing him grow up.

I always got a bit of a funny vibe with Zac/Kate dating, much less married, in what seemed like such a circumstantial clone of what Tay did. But who knows what goes on behind clothes doors - maybe Zac and Kate really are into each other. I guess it seems stupid to say "Who are we to comment on their private relationship?" after all this theorizing in this LJ thread, rofl.

Hehe, well when I theorize here it's not necessarily my actual beliefs on everything. This is my fiction journal and on it... I just find it interesting to discuss these things. It can insire stories. In public I tend to just kind of turn the blinders on and not care much about their relationships at all. There is too much fandom drama around their marriages! (Except Ike's, but then seeing him and Nikki... who could argue that she isn't just really sweet and that they don't look so totally in love!)

Actually, part of the reason I think Nat might be ok with stuff isn't only that she wanted to marry Tay... sometimes I wonder.... I mean, they obviously kinda had to get married when she got pregnant. Maybe, at the end of the day, when she got to know Tay he wasn't the person she really wanted to marry either. Maybe she wants it to be open as much as him. You know, everyone just assumes she wanted to trap him but hey, maybe she actually is just as trapped as he is.

I really don't think they're popping out babies cause she is terrified of him leaving. Ok maybe it's why she agrees to it but Taylor has always kinda said he wanted a big family... I mean he was in his teens and already knew he was gonna have "an army of Hanson's!" haha (bless him). But I don't know when you see them together... she seems quite comfortable with her role? And quite confident in their marriage. Ofc you never know what goes on behind closed doors but...

Yeah it seems to me that marrying fellow musicians would make sense... especially for Tay and Zac who seem to live music to an even bigger extent than Ike does. (I actually think it suits him better not to be with a musician, he strikes me as someone who would appreciate that chance to just get away from the hustle of the industry when he comes home.) But then, maybe non-musicians help to keep them in touch with the real world a little. ^^

And yeah Michelle seems to be pretty involved in the Hanson sphere still. A while back I remember Tay and her tweeting to eachother about where to eat in whatever place it was she was at the time haha. I was thinking he should probably have a private twitter to tweet with her on if he doesn't want rumours. xD I also find it a bit amusing that Nat follows Michelle on twitter... keep your friends close and your enemies closer ey. ^^

Just... don't get me started on Zac and Kate. He seems so uncomfortable with her. They are just... so different. And he was so young when they started dating and just never really dated anyone else. And yeah, she is Nat's best friend (as far as I know they started dating around the same time? I remember seeing a picture of the two couples around the time they first started going out anyway). I try to believe that he is just uncomfortable being public about his relationship but... I don't know. It seems so off.

But yeah, at the end of the day as much as I want them to be happy... well, even if they're not, that's their choice.

But still, the only reason I'd be surprised if it didn't last is with Zac being so super religious I don't see him getting a divorce.

Jessica Harp! There's a name I haven't heard literally in years. I remember when H.net was really promoting her and tried to whip the fans into a frenzy over supporting her. Actually, that was one of the first times I saw their business/promotion side applied to others, and the fact they could leverage H.net for that (I had thought this was way ahead of the cuve for "social network marketing"), and being impressed that they could throw their heft and name behind her and fans started checking her out. So it didn't seem that much a stretch to me when they started 3CG Records!

My previous GettyImages search failed, but I tried again and found at least two photos from the event I spoke about! December 2003, after Tay was with Natalie and turns out Michelle would marry the next year. The ones I saw were much larger and higher-res, and there were 5 or 6 of Michelle and Taylor sitting together on the couch, and their body language seemed to be painting a particular story - but who knows. (I remember when Hansonhouse forum poster quipping at the time, "Oh, there's Tay, Michelle and Michelle's vagina. Geez that dress is down a little low and up a little high." Love the misidentification of Tay as Isaac. And Ben Jelen's (those lips!) all like "I want some of that" about Taylor.

But yeah, I remember them being snuggly - and I remember thinking he looks so... ok, well, firstly, wasted lol. (Sorry it's just so really weird when you see pics of any of Hanson drunk cause it's so rare!) But apart from that he seems so relaxed! He really just seems to be himself. And his clothes look good!

Btw, wasn't there actually a rumour about Taylor and Ben Jelen too? Or was that just a story I read. Now I can't remember.

But I have to say Tay and Ben look as good together as Tay and Michelle do hahahah.

I do have to say though, when Tay and Nat first started dating it was obvious they were in love. But I also think that Tay and Michelle had some obvious chemistry that surpassed what he had/has with Nat.

Yeah, lol, the two most common comments on those pics seemed to be that everyone thought he looked either wasted or that him (and her) had that post-fucking "glow" about them. His clothes look great, yeah. I love that shade of purple on him, like its collar too, and the brown leather looks good.

Yeah, there were Ben Jelen rumors, and these went outside the Hanson community and started cropping up on gay forum/rumor boards. (And why do I lurk these, you might ask, lol? Because of the whipsmart 'tude, the fact they break news pretty quickly, and the fact that, um, they're all into hot guys? Count me in! I really never have the interest to post, but I'm an enthusiastic lurker!) I kept reading this persistent one about Ben loving to be rimmed by Taylor, lol. (Take this thread on Tay for instance of what's out there, a lot of pages to wade through, but post 138 on this page is one I kept seeing.) But you know rumours, one person can be posting these all over the place without a shread of truth and it's spreading by that poster's own hand. Doesn't mean anything, except possibly inspiring fanfic/slash plots!

I totally have wanted to write some dedicated slash with Tay and Ben Jelen though. Ben's so pretty! I'm thinking of a "flashback" type speculating what happened when they got together. :)

Oh wow I've never lurked around forums like that but whoah. I know the gay scene is rife with rumours (which is why I normally stay out of it) but there was a really true post in there pointing out that if guys get a guy that's conceived as straight to bend over for him, he will probably boast about it. I do have to agree with there being some truth in that!

And honestly, to me, there are too many extramarital / Taylor being with guys rumours for me to not start to believe they hold a shred of truth.

I have to say though, the rumours that Taylor cried and was heartbroken on his last night as a single man always makes me feel so sorry for him. I really hope they are not true but I can imagine with all the other shit going on in his life at that point, if he really did not want to marry Nat, things can't have been easy for him.

Also, I think their privacy about their lives is almost their curse sometimes - if they were more open there would be less room for hurtful rumours...
