Maybe *that's* how they should make money. Instead of $80 for that "5 of 5 DVD set" they're peddling, they should charge $800 for like 2 minutes' watch of them fucking like bunnies. There could be doors that open and shut after 2 minutes like one of those peep show booth things, haha. $800 gets another 2 min.

There was a post over at hansonsecrets03, which I don't even really believe anyway (but it's hella entertaining reading/fiction) that said the guys are, like, broke and that's why they charged, what was it, $800 for that deluxe "Shout It Out" package, with record player and headphones, or more for the ones with Zac's art. And $80 for the 5 DVD set. The examples go on and on...

I can never seem to find specific Hansonsecrets posts again, and I don't really believe it, but I was thinking, if only they realized how much money they could earn by showing a little flesh and/or brotherly lovin'. :) People would pay a thousand bucks for even 30 seconds of a glimpse of it, I'm sure. Talk about not knowing you've got a cash cow to milk. ;)

Lol I heard that broke rumour too. People just can't accept that the packages were actually worth that much. I mean hello the art pieces were all different AND signed by them. The 5 of 5 has 5 DVDs and a CD, that's surely worth 80 dollars too?

Plus it's not like we need any of those extra things, I mean I wish I could afford them but I accept that Im not ad that they're worth what's charged for them.

I don't understand the fans who assume they are broke and just overcharging us... why would you wanna be fans of a band if you believed that's how they act? Makes no sense to me!

They should start selling pics of Tay and Zac kissing. That would also make them frontpage news again. Perfect. :P

Yeah - somebody on that hansonsecrets03 thread did a breakdown of what the record player of that type cost, the headphones, and the other rarities, plus a reasonable/average profit margin (of course) and it wasn't out of line. I think the $800 is just sticker shock to many - I mean, that's a damn lot to shell out for a band, even one you're into. I think people thought they were just doing it as a "fuck you" or "god, are fans are suckers, watch this". But I've read in that community again (not saying it's true) the comment that "let's just say this - the guys are much better musicians and performers than businessmen" and that everything from shipment delays, losing-the-order to alleged 3CG money losing/woes and bad investments/money management stems from that, and they refuse to take advice from financial advisers or venture capitalists who know this kind of biz or endeavor they're trying, wanting to do it "all themselves". Who knows. I doubt most of these anecdotes, but I will say I firmly believe they believe in themselves and that they know best and won't listen to outside advice/help perhaps as much as they should. (For instance, listen to us about the Zaylor action, damnit! :) )

Yeah, they could use a Zac/Tay "caught smooching on vacation on the beach" scandal. ;) Not sure that'd be any publicist's advice though, lol. I saw someone ask once, "Why so few gay sex tapes leaked? You've got everyone from Colin Ferrell to Paris Hilton to Ray-J to Dustin "Screech" Diamond to god knows who else with a sex tape, and no gay sex tape scandals? From either 'out' gay guys, or those in the closet and allegedly straight?" Perhaps that community knows when to zip it...or else not film it in the first place! In the Zaylor case...our loss. ;)

Yeah I really don't think they're trying to rip fans off. I do believe they might be a bit... out of touch with reality of sorts. I mean that in the best possible way. I think they're just very enthusiastic about what they do, I mean whenever they make FUTYs or stuff about new things it's quite obvious that THEY believe in what they do. I have no clue about who they seek advice from, but I'm sure to some degree it's true that they don't have much outside help - I think they seem to have a vision of a record company where they are in charge of EVERYTHING and add to that the fact that they spent a few years being walked all over, I'm quite sure that they might not accept much outside help. Even when they need it. :P

I mean even in their record production I think that's clear, not that the stuff they produce themselves is terrible, but I can't help comparing to older stuff and thinking that it could sound even better if they brought a producer in for it.

Hahaha, the gay sex tape thing was random, I've never thought of that? I think most celeb sex tapes are fake anyway so I never pay much attention lol.
